The day before
You will get a WhatsApp message the evening before with the 2-hour arrival window. Standard windows are 8:30-10:30 or 13:00-15:00 to avoid Riyadh and Jeddah prayer-time traffic. We do not work past Asr if it falls inside the install window — the crew pauses, prays, and resumes.
Who arrives
A two-person team in a clearly marked IMDADTECH van: a lead electrician and an assistant. Both carry their Saudi Council of Engineers identification. Reception, security guards, and compound management are used to seeing us — most large compounds have us on the pre-cleared contractor list.
What we ask from you
- Power: the main breaker will be off for roughly 20 minutes while we tie into the panel. Plan for the AC interruption.
- Parking: clear the spot where the charger will mount, and one neighbouring spot for the van.
- Access: an adult over 18 needs to be present to sign the handover sheet at the end. Housekeepers and security guards cannot sign on the owner's behalf.
What the install actually involves
Three jobs run in parallel: cable run from the panel to the charger location, fixing the wall unit at the agreed height (usually 1.2m), and adding the dedicated breaker and surge protection inside the panel. The cable is run inside a powder-coated steel conduit — not exposed PVC trunking, which is the giveaway of a cheap install.
If we discover a defect inside the panel — a cracked bus bar, a missing earth, the original 30-year-old breaker that has heat-stress marks — we pause and call the homeowner before adding any cost. We never assume.
When the crew leaves
You get a 10-minute walkthrough: how to start a session from the IMDAD app, how to schedule charging for the hours you prefer, and what the unit's status LEDs mean. The handover sheet doubles as your warranty activation — keep a photo of it in your phone.
What if something goes wrong later
The wall unit comes with a 3-year on-site warranty, the cabling with 10 years. A WhatsApp message to the support number is the fastest path — most issues are resolved without a re-visit by walking through the LEDs together.
